Strike a Powerful Pose

The LIlTDY class currently study on how we should pose when speaking in front of others, and how we should show our dignity(leadership) through posing or handshakes. From the article, Strike a Powerful Pose, it shows how power posing effect others and your own action. I realized that most people who are good speakers apply to the features given in the text. Although, the class had some practice to speak like that, but it wasn't easy. I imaged myself speaking confidently, copying the features of a good speaker, but it didn't go as I imaged. Now I can really tell why most executives have their own coach to teach them privately.
In the text, it also said that it is hard to break old body-language practice. For me, I have bad poses when speaking, so I have to put in mind to change my poses concsiousely. I think good speakers are attractive, and we can tell because many people gathers, and are moved. It can be acquired by practicing, so I think it is interesting.

  1. Hi Maya,

Thanks for this first post. You are right about how good speakers do present themselves well with confident poses, and such things can be taught, but as you suggest, getting good at it requires a lot of practice, and ideally a coach. But we can learn from each other too, as we will in this class.
